Prof. Andrew J. Macnab: A Keynote Speaker for the 3rd International Conference on Applied Science and Health

Proudly introducing Prof. Andrew J. Macnab, the Keynote Speaker for the 3rd International Conference on Applied Science and Health.

Currently a Professor at Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study, Wallenberg Research Centre of South Africa, and University of British Columbia of Canada, Prof. Macnab is an innovator and pioneer in the field of Biomedical Near Infrared Spectroscopy.

Prof Macnab is now the Editor-in-Chief for the Global Health Management Journal, one of our FREE Repositories in Indonesian Scholars’ Alliance, where the authors of the selected papers from the 3rd ICASH can submit their extension papers here FREE.

In the International Conference on Applied Science and Health, we celebrate the advances in applied science and health research intended to benefit all sections of society, from the very young to the very old, and to promoting better future health. His editorial helps us formulated a theme “Addressing global health challenges: policy, research and practices” for the 3rd ICASH.

In the 3rd ICASH, Prof. Macnab will deliver his keynote speech in the topic “Global Health: Challenges and opportunities for translating policy into practice”.

His principal research interest is the application of near-infrared spectroscopy, a non-invasive means of measuring tissue oxygenation and hemodynamics using near-infrared light, to improve the care of infants, children, and adults. A new patented version of this technology has been developed as an adjunct to evaluation and diagnosis in adults with symptoms related to bladder pathology. Other applications include evaluation of muscle physiology in health and disease and research to establish ways of preventing hypoxia (lack of oxygen) and ischemia (inadequate blood flow) in a variety of clinical situations, particularly those involving the brain or spinal cord.

He dedicates himself to improving the care of sick and injured infants and children in need of inter-facility transport (transport by air ambulance from a distant hospital to specialized care). His interests are in the complexities imposed by transport at altitude, the role of paramedics, and the logistics of delivery of prehospital health care services.

Participation in the 3rd ICASH can be either as Presenter or Non-Presenter. Registering as a presenter, the participants can present their original research findings and best practices either in oral or poster sessions, while review article can be included only in the oral session. Authors who decide to participate in Poster session are required to only send the ABSTRACT. Either the full paper or the abstract should be submitted not later than 17 June 2018 through the online system on our official website www.ICASH.INSCHOOL.id

Since the 3rd ICASH has now been certified as a Scientific Event by Indonesian Public Health Association (IPHA) thus participation in the 3rd ICASH will be granted with credits.
